Week 5 Wrap-Up
Week 5 of the 2025 WCSLA regular season has 5 matches.
The Pioneers hosted New Westminster Thursday night at Ladner Leisure Centre and defeated the Salmonbellies 7-3. Ryder Bremner had a huge game in the NW net, stopping 64 of 71 shots while Matt Hills stopped 35 of 38 in the Pioneers’ net. Spencer Bromley (3G, 0A) led scoring.
Friday night, Ladner travelled to the island to face the Timbermen at Frank Crane Arena and Nanaimo came away with a 9-7 win. The T-men built up a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes and held off the Pioneers (6-2) for their 5th victory. Luke Ory (0G, 4A) led scoring with Pete Dubenski turning aside 51 of 58 shots faced. The second game of the night featured the Indians outscoring the Bandits 5-2 in the final frame to take a 10-9 decision at Harry Jerome Community Rec Centre. Lee Jackman stood tall in the North Shore (2-5-1) net, stopping 49 of 58 shots, and the Bandits’ Thomas Moffit (1G, 4A) led scoring.
Sunday has a pair of games, starting with Nanaimo (6-2) defeating the Salmonbellies (0-8-1) at Queen's Park Arena by a score of 7-3. Dubenski stopped 41 of 44 shots in net, while seven players tied for the most points with 2. Week 5 wrapped up with the Shamrocks (6-1) beating Coquitlam (4-6) 10-5 at Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex. Jackson Boyd led the attack with 3 goals and 4 assists while Adam Bland stopped 36 of 41 shots for his 3rd win in net.
