Week 8 Wrap-Up
Week 8 of the 2025 WCSLA regular season features 5 matches.
Wednesday evening the Indians faced the Salmonbellies at Queen’s Park Arena and left with their 4th win of the season 11-8. North Shore, led by Brandon Woodward (3G, 2A) and Jean Luc Cheater (5A) jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never trailed. Lee Jackman stopped 35 of 43 shots in net.
Friday night the Indians (4-7-1) hosted the reigning champion Pioneers (11-2) at the Harry Jerome Community Rec Centre and dropped a 9-6 decision. North Shore outshot Ladner 45-44, with Alex Buque holding down the fort in the Pioneers net, stopping 39 shots for the win. Keegan Bell and Coady Adamson each had 2 goals and 2 assists.
Saturday afternoon, the Bandits met the Timbermen at the Nanaimo Ice Centre with the hosts coming out on top 12-8. Nanaimo jumped out to a 3-0 lead, including a pair of short handed tallies, and never trailed. Grady Holmes (3G, 3A) led scoring with Pete Dubenski stopping 37 of 45 shots.
Sunday afternoon, the Timbermen were at Queen’s Park Arena to face the Salmonbellies (0-14-1) in its final game of the season and left with an 11-7 win. Nanaimo (10-4) took a 5-1 lead after 20 minutes and hung on for their 10th victory with one game left. Andrew Miller (4G, 1A) led scoring while Jake Colley stopped 38 of 45 shots.
The second to last week of the regular season wrapped with the Shamrocks (9-3) upset by the Bandits (6-9) by a score of 7-6 at the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. Coquitlam was outshot 56-47 but Connor Nichols held fort, stopping 50 shots. Aidan Lalonde scored his second of the game with 1:36 left to notch the win, with Laszlo Henning (1G, 2A) and Thomas Moffat (3A) leading the charge for the Bandits’ final game of the season.
After eight weeks of play, Ladner’s Coady Adamson has taken over as leading scorer with 53 points. Victoria's Jackson Boyd leads with 30 goals and Victoria's Rylee Marsh leads with 41 assists. Ladner's Alex Buque continues to lead in save percentage (0.899) and goals against average (4.69).
