The Playoffs are Underway!

The 2024 WCSLA Playoffs got underway this week with three games.

In Game 1 of the best-of-5 semifinals Tuesday evening at Ladner Leisure Centre, the reigning provincial and national champion Ladner Pioneers defeated the fourth place North Shore Indians 14-7. James Rahe led scoring with 4 goals and 3 assists, with Christian Del Bianco picking up the win in net stopping 31 of 38 shots. Thursday night at Harry Jerome Rec Centre, the Pioneers went up 2-0 in the series with a 15-9 victory. Mitch Jones (3G, 3A) led the charge with Del Bianco stopping 38 of 47 shots. Game 3 is set for Thursday August 4th in Ladner.

The second semifinal series is an all-island matchup, with the Victoria Shamrocks taking the first game 13-11 in overtime over the Nanaimo Timbermen Friday night at Save On Foods Memorial Centre. Jack Bowie (4G, 1A) was the top scorer with Brodie Wade notching a hat trick, including the eventual game winner. Colin Jeffrey turned aside 44 of 55 shots in the 'Rocks net. Game 2 is set for Tuesday July 30th at Frank Crane Arena in Naniamo.
