Indians Advance to Face Pioneers

The North Shore Indians advanced to the league semi-final after edging the New Westminster Salmonbellies 10-9 Wednesday night at Queen's Park Arena and sweeping the best-of-3 series 2-0. Salmonbellies Finn Stark (5G, 0A) and Nate Marken (2G, 3A) led scoring in a losing effort, with Riku Jokela of the Indians stopping 38 of 47 shots for the win.

Game 1 of the best-of-3 semi-final goes Tuesday July 25th at the Ladner Leisure Centre with Game 2 set for Thursday July 27th at Harry Jerome Community Rec Centre.

In the other semi-final at Nanaimo Wednesday night, the Timbermen tied the series 1-1 with a 16-9 win over the Victoria Shamrocks. T-men Doug Langlois led the attack with 3 goals and 6 assists, while Jeremy Funk and Nick Patterson combined to stop 38 of 47 shots, with Funk picking up the W. Game 3 is scheduled for Friday night in Victoria.
