Pioneers 2024 League and Provincial Champions

For the fourth time in the past five seasons, the Ladner Pioneers are league and provincial champions. The Pioneers completed the sweep of the Victoria Shamrocks in the best-of-3 final Sunday afternoon at home with a 13-2 victory in Game 2. Ladner jumped out to an 8-0 lead by the 17th minute of the first period, gave up a pair of goals and finished the game on a 5-0 run and taking 80 shots total at the Victoria net. Spencer Bromley (3G, 2A) and Mitch Jones (1G, 4A) led the attack, with Christian Del Bianco turning aside 34 of 36 shots between the pipes. 

Game 1 went Saturday afternoon at The Q Centre with the Pioneers defeating the Shamrocks 9-4. The teams were tied at two after 20 minutes and tied at four 35 minutes in before the Pioneers rattled off five unanswered goals to take the contest. Jones (2G, 2A) led Ladner scoring with Del Bianco stopping 43 of 47 shots in net.
