Week 10 Wrap-Up

The final week of the 2026 West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association regular season has four weekend of matches. Saturday July 18th the Coquitlam Bandits visited their cross-town rivals, the New Westminster Salmonbellies at Queen's Park Arena and handed the ‘Bellies a 14th straight loss to finish their season by a count of 25-2. Wesley Phillips (1G, 7A) was the top point getter while Aidan Lalonde scored 4 goals. Tristan Lomas got the win in net, stopping 17 of 18 shots.

Meanwhile, the Ladner Pioneers kept their perfect season intact when they travelled to the island and defeated the Nanaimo Timbermen 18-7 at Frank Crane Arena. Haiden Dickson (6G, 1A) was the top scorer with Keegan Okino picking up the win in goal.

Game 2 of the home-and-home series between the Timbermen and Pioneers went Sunday July 19th at the Ladner Leisure Centre and the Pioneers defeated the T-men 20-2 to finish 14-0-0. Nanaimo, who finished the season at 3-11-0 in 4th place, trailed 8-0 after 20 minutes and 13-1 after 40 minutes. Jake Colley was busy in the Timbermen net, stopping 77 of 97 shots faced, while at the other end Matt Hills turned aside 37 of 39 shots. Ben McDonald (5G, 4A) was the top scorer in a match that is the precursor to the first round playoff series. The regular season ended with the Coquitlam Bandits upsetting the North Shore Indians 13-6 at the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. The Bandits, who finished in 3rd place with a record of 8-6-0, trailed the Indians (2nd place, 10-4-0) 4-3 at the first intermission, took a 6-5 lead into the third period and exploded with 7 goals to seal the victory in the precursor to their first round playoff series. Phillips led the pack with 1 goal and 5 assists with Chase Hanson scoring 4 times. Lomas took the win stopping 40 of 46 shots.

Ladner players swept the league leaders with Ben McDonald finishing the season as top points getter (70) and top goal scorer (40), Mitch Jones top assist getter (40), and Matt Hills taking all goaltending categories (5.29 goals against average, 0.868 save percentage and 6 wins).
