Week 4 Results

The Provincial and National Champion Ladner Pioneers opened Week 4 hosting New Westminster Thursday night in their home opener and came away with a 24-3 decision to move into a tie for first place with the Victoria Shamrocks. Alex Turner had a huge night, notching 5 goals and 6 assists. Ryan Keith and Dean Fairlall also scored 5 times, with Christian Del Bianco stopping 15 of 18 shots.

The Pioneers defeated the Shamrocks Saturday afternoon at Ladner Leisure Centre 19-4, making it 4 wins in a row and claiming top spot in the standings. James Rahe (3G, 5A) and Tyler Pace (4G, 3A) led the attack, with Del Bianco solid between the pipes, turning away 45 of 49 shots.

Sunday afternoon in Nanaimo, the Timbermen moved to 2-2-0 on the season with a 14-5 victory over the winless Salmonbellies. Darrin Wilson (1G, 6A) led T-men scoring, with Jon Diplock hitting the twine 4 times. Nick Patterson returned to the net and stopped 38 of 43 shots.

The final game of the week featured North Shore at Victoria, with the Shamrocks prevailing 15-7. Colin Bell (1G, 5A) led the charge with Steve Higgs and Ari Stevens each picking up hat tricks. Ryan Atkinson won his first of the season, stopping 35 of 42 shots faced.
