Week 4 Wrap-up

The fourth week of the 2026 West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association season again features five games, which started Wednesday June 3rd with a pair of matches. The Ladner Pioneers travelled to the island to hook up with the Timbermen at Nanaimo Ice Centre and squeaked out a 14-13 win. The visitors opened the scoring less than 2 minutes in and went into the locker room with a 7-5 lead. The hosts cut the lead by one heading into the final frame and despite last minute heroics, came up a goal short to fall to 1-3. Ladner's Haiden Dickson (4G, 3A) and Mitch Jones (2G, 5A) led scoring, with starter Zach Richards and reliever Matt Hills combining to stop 36 of 49 shots.

The second game had the New Westminster Salmonbellies host the Coquitlam Bandits at Queen’s Park Arena and dropping their 5th straight by a count of 17-4. The Bandits, led by Aidan Lalonde (6G, 1A), jumped out to a 10-0 lead after 20 minutes and cruised to their 3rd win of the season. Tristan Lomas went the distance in goal, stopping 32 of 36 shots faced.

Friday June 5th, the Salmonbellies met up with the North Shore Indians at Harry Jerome Community Rec Centre, with the Indians taking the contest 15-4. The game was close in the first period with North Shore leading 3-2. However, the wheels fell off for New West in the final 40 minutes, getting outscored 12-2 and remaining winless on the year. Connor Aquanno led the attack with 3 goals and 4 assists, while Owen Joseph stopped 18 of 22 shots in net.

Sunday had two games, starting with the Timbermen defeating the ‘Bellies 11-6 at Queen’s Park Arena. New West jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but Nanaimo rallied with 9 straight goals and held on their 2nd win of the season. Nanaimo’s Jake Mickelson (3G, 3A) was top scorer with Jake Colley stopping 35 of 41 shots for his first W. Week ended with the Pioneers remaining perfect with a 23-15 victory over the Bandits at the Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. The high scoring affair had Ladner leading 10-3 after one period and 18-9 after two. Mitch Jones (3G, 6A) led scorers with Haiden Dickson scoring 7 goals. Zach Richards turned side 31 of 46 shots for his 3rd win.

Ladner’s Mitch Jones leads league scoring with 38 points and assists with 26, while Ladner’s Haiden Dickson leads with 22 goals. Nanaimo’s Peter Dubenski is top goalie with a save percentage of 0.876 and goals against average of 6.32. Check our Stats > Leaders Page for a complete listing.
