Week 5 Wrap-Up
Week 5 of the 2026 West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association season had only three matches, starting Wednesday June 10th when the Ladner Pioneers visited the New Westminster Salmonbellies at Queen's Park Arena and handed the ‘Bellies their 8th straight loss by a score of 20-6. Ladner outshot New West 75-27 with Matt Hills stopping 21 for his 4th win of the season. Ben MacDonald (6G, 3A) was the top scorer on the night.
The Pioneers then hosted the Coquitlam Bandits Thursday June 11th at Ladner Leisure Centre and picked up their 9th straight win by a court of 17-7. The game was tied at 6 early in the second period before the hosts went on an 11-1 run to seal the deal. Mitch Jones (2G, 6A) led the attack while Hills and Zach Richards combined to stop 28 of 35 shots in net.
The week concluded with the North Shore Indians defeating the Nanaimo Timbermen 10-7 Friday night at Frank Crane Arena. The T-men led 2-1 after 20 minutes but trailed 5-4 after 40 minutes. North Shore outshot Nanaimo 49-43 with Lee Jackman stopping 36 shots for his third win. Jacob Dunbar was top scorer with 2 goals and 3 assists.
Ladner’s Mitch Jones continues to lead league scoring with 46 points and assists with 32, while Ladner’s Ben McDonald and Haiden Dickson lead with 22 goals. Nanaimo’s Peter Dubenski continues to lead with a save percentage of 0.857 while Matt Hills leads with a goals against average of 6.09. Check our Stats > Leaders Page for a complete listing.
