Week 6 Wrap-Up

Week 6 of the 2026 West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association season has four matches, starting Wednesday June 10th when the North Shore Indians visited the New Westminster Salmonbellies at Queen's Park Arena left with a 16-3 victory. The Indians, led by Nico McNabb with 5 goals and 1 assist, held leads of 6-2 and 11-3 after 20 and 40 minutes respectively and were backstopped by Riku Jokela and Owen Joseph who combined to turn aside 32 of 35 shots. Liam Froese stopped 51 of 67 shots in the New West net.

The 'Bellies travelled to the Ladner Leisure Centre the next evening and were handed their 10th straight loss by the Pioneers 28-4. The game was tied at one 3 minutes into the contest but Ladner blew the game wide open with 10 unanswered goals and cruised to their 10th straight win. Ben MacDonald (8G, 7A) was the top scorer on the night while Zach Richards picked up his 4th win in goal, stopping 28 of 32 shots faced.

Friday June 19th had the Nanaimo Timbermen travelling to Harry Jerome Rec Centre to hook up with North Shore, with the hosts prevailing 12-7. After the T-men opened the scoring, the Indians never trailed the rest of the way, outshooting the visitors 62-38. Lee Jackman returned to the North Shore net, stopping 31 shots while Peter Dubenski stopped 50 in the Nanaimo goal. Adam Charalambides led scoring with 3 goals and 4 assists.

The week wrapped up Sunday June 21st with the Salmonbellies dropping an 18- 5 decision to the Coquitlam Bandits at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. New West took a 3-2 lead into the second period and the game was tied at 5 midway through the match before the Bandits, led by Chase Hanson (7G, 2A) and Marcello Mannarino (2G, 7A), scored 13 unanswered goals to move to 4-5-0 on the season. Connor Nichols stopped 22 of 27 shots for his second win.
