Week 7 Results

Week 7 of the 2023 WCSLA season opened with a pair of games Wednesday night. In Nanaimo, the Timbermen overcame an 8-5 deficit midway through the third period to defeat the Victoria Shamrocks 9-8. Doug Langlois had 3 goals, including the game-winner, and 3 assists to lead the charge, while Nick Patterson came up huge in net, stopping 45 of 53 shots.

In New Westminster, the Salmonbellies rallied from a 9-6 deficit with 4 1/2 minutes left to tie the game with 17 seconds left, only to lose a heartbreaker in overtime 10-9 to the North Shore Indians. Sidney Powless (4G) and Alex Dozzi (1G, 3A) led the Indians' attack, while Riku Jokela and Connor Nichols combined to stop 46 of 55 shots faced.

Saturday afternoon in Ladner, the Pioneers extended their win streak to 9 games with a 19-5 decision over the visiting Shamrocks. James Rahe led scoring with 3 goals and 5 assists, Alex Turner chipped in 4 goals, and Christian Del Bianco stopped 39 of 44 shots for his 7th win between the pipes.

Saturday evening in Nanaimo, the Timbermen made it two wins in a row with a 10-8 win over the Indians. The hosts built up a 9-5 lead late in the middle frame and withstood a rally by the guests in the third period, with Gordie Walls-Good sealing the deal with short handed tally with 3 seconds left. Andrew Miller (3G, 1A) led scorers and Nick Patterson stopped 39 of 47 shots for his third win of the season.
