Week 9 Wrap-Up
The final week of the 2025 WCSLA regular season featured 4 matches.
The Shamrocks visited the Timbermen at the Nanaimo Ice Centre Wednesday night and came away with a 7-5 victory. Nanaimo (10-5) led 5-4 after 40 minutes, but were shut out in the final frame while Victoria notched 3 goals. Nolan Morrison (2G, 1A) and Jack Bowie (1G, 2A) led the attack while Adam Bland stopped 37 of 42 shots.
The Pioneers took on the Indians at the Harry Jerome Community Rec Centre Thursday night and left with an 8-2 win. Dylan Lacroix was the top points getter with 4 goals and 1 assist, while Matt Hills went the distance in goal. stopping 32 of 34 shots.
Saturday afternoon, the Shamrocks were to face the Indians (4-8-1) at Harry Jerome, but due to an closure of Highway 17 in Tsawwassen, the game was cancelled.
Sunday afternoon, the Shamrocks hosted the Pioneers at The Q Centre to wrap up the regular season and came up on the short end of an 11-7 result. Things were looking pretty rosy for Victoria (10-4) heading into the final frame up 6-4, but Ladner (13-2) scored 7 compared to the home team's 1 goal to clinch the victory. Coady Adamson (3G, 2A) was the top scorer, while Alex Buque returned to the net to stop 45 of 52 shots.
It will be Ladner (13-2) squaring off with Coquitlam (6-9) and Victoria (10-4) hooking up with Nanaimo (10-5) in the semi-finals.
Ladner’s Coady Adamson ended up as the league's leading scorer with 62 points and 33 goals, while Victoria's Rylee Marsh led with 44 assists. Ladner's Alex Buque had the best save percentage (0.895) and goals against average (4.96).
